The Role:
Primary responsibilities for this position in the Department of Mathematics include teaching existing introductory in-person courses in mathematics (such as pre-calculus, calculus, and linear algebra) and advanced courses in mathematics, statistics, and actuarial science for students majoring in actuarial science, applied mathematics, mathematics education, and other fields. The successful candidate will possess superior teaching abilities, a plan for ongoing scholarship at CWU, and a willingness to provide service to the department, university, community, and the profession. Faculty will integrate CWU's vision, mission, and values with their teaching, scholarship, and service to create a learning environment that fosters student success and institutional excellence. Minimum Qualifications In your cover letter, please address how you meet these qualifications: Earned doctorate by September 1, 2027, in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science Evidence of teaching excellence and a commitment to undergraduate teaching Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels Evidence of ability to develop an active scholarship program at a teaching institution Teaching, scholarship, or service experience that aligns with CWU's commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds Preferred Qualifications ( In your cover letter, please address any experience with the following preferred qualifications:) University-level teaching experience in statistics and actuarial science Experience with curriculum development. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues in an interdisciplinary environment. Experience utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success. Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote engagement and student success. Demonstrated ability to contribute to CWU`s vision, mission, and values. Demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for students through teaching and/or mentoring activities.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Annual Salary :
$65,136 - $78,000, based on a full-time nine-month appointment. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Appointment :
Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
