Job Description

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is currently welcomingapplications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Mechanics to start in Fall 2027. The Department of Mechanical andIndustrial Engineering houses undergraduate programs in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as well as a graduate program inEngineering and graduate certificates in Fluid Power and Additive Manufacturing. In addition to teaching, successful candidates willbe expected to become involved with academic advising, curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professionalgrowth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research. Required Qualifications Earned DoctorateDegree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field Undergraduate Engineering degree from an ABET-accreditedprogram Relevant industry experience A strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching while integrating theory withapplications and developing laboratory experiences Expertise in solid mechanics or computational mechanics. Experience inareas such as finite element analysis, multiphysics modeling, or fracture and fatigue mechanics is preferred. Research or industryexperience in the aforementioned areas is preferred. Skills and Abilities Excellent Communication Skills Applications at senior rank will also be considered.
