Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University, invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position. The successful candidate will lead and conduct cutting-edge research focused on understanding bacterial virulence mechanisms and developing innovative therapeutic strategies.
Key Responsibilities Research Execution:
Design, conduct, and analyze complex experiments related to bacterial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, and microbial genetics.
In Vivo Modeling:
Utilize and manage animal models, including murine (mouse) systems, to investigate the complexities of bacterial infections and test novel therapeutics.
Molecular Biology:
Perform advanced molecular techniques, including gene expression analysis, RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq), proteomics, and basic bioinformatics.
Dissemination of Data:
Prepare high-quality manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at national and international conferences.
Lab Leadership & Mentorship:
Assist in the daily operations of the lab, including the supervision, training, and mentorship of junior lab members, technicians, and students.
