Adjunct Instructor Mass Communication and Journalism

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION

Exempt

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Adjunct Instructor in Mass Communication and Journalism, with a minimum qualification of a Master's Degree (minimum 18 credit hours in Mass Communication or Journalism) in the field from an accredited institution, and commitment to teaching Mass Communication and Journalism in a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Teaching courses in the Mass Communication and Journalism degree program, especially courses in public relations and advertising, as defined by the Faculty Handbook and the current KSU Course Catalogue.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Duties including but not limited to: teaching 1-2 Mass Communication and Journalism courses in various formats including face-to-face and online modes.

OTHER DUTIES

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

ABILITIES

Master's Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism required; classroom teaching experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
