Job Description

Recruitment:
Ongoing The Department of Computer Science (CS) at Central Connecticut State University seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time appointments as adjunct faculty. The Department of Computer Science is diverse in faculty, expertise, and discipline programs. Quality teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, adjunct faculty, and industry experience are especially valued in CS. Our Computer Science-Honors program is accredited by ABET, and our Cybersecurity program is undergoing similar national accreditation. Courses are taught on campus and are offered both daytime and evenings. The number of positions varies by semester and depends upon the needs of the department. Appointments are for one semester, and may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance. We are especially interested in practitioners who have professional and teaching expertise in:
  • Introductory Computer Science classes in: o Java, Python, and C++
  • Systems Programming
  • Cybersecurity Women, minorities, and under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in the related fields as specified above
  • Professional experience that is current, substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility
  • Commitment to serving culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in the related field as specified above
  • Professional Certification the related field as specified above
  • Strong teaching skills, and have an ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning
  • Evidence of quality teaching experience Candidates must demonstrate appropriate mastery of the subject area; provide students with appropriate learning materials; evaluate students' performance and provide effective feedback to guide student learning and success; keep samples of students' work for accreditation purposes; and contribute to maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment.
