Adjunct Faculty Computer Science Lecturer The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology (CSET) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is currently accepting resumes for adjuncts in the area of Computer Science. s will be reviewed as needed for each semester.

Responsibilities:
  • Teaching expectations include instructing undergraduate courses in ComputerScience in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid,and on-line.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educationalprocess.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or doctorate in computer science or a closely related field.
  • Note:
    Individuals with degrees outside of the United States may be subject to verification at the expense of the applicant.
  • Applicants must have excellence in teaching and a commitment to mentoring students.
  • Applicants must have effective communication skills including written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
  • May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk.
  • May require lifting.
  • Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally.
  • Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.
Preferences:
  • A strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the COBOL language and it's business data processing environment.
Minimum Qualifications The title Lecturer will ordinarily be used to designate appointments of persons who are serving in a teaching capacity for a limited time or part-time. The normal requirement is a Master's degree in the field of instruction or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the field of instruction.
