Position Overview The School of Business and Social Sciences at Wiley University invites applications for a full-time, open rank faculty position in Computer Information Systems. This search is open at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, and the University welcomes applications from early career scholars, established faculty, and accomplished industry practitioners with the credentials to teach at the collegiate level. The successful candidate will teach across the Computer Information Systems curriculum, contribute to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree and related technology offerings, and help shape a program that prepares students for careers in information systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, and information technology management. Candidates whose teaching and scholarship engage emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing, and business intelligence are particularly encouraged to apply. Rank, Appointment, and Compensation Faculty rank, appointment type, and compensation are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and institutional equity, consistent with Wiley University's established compensation structures and institutional practices. Salary determination accounts for the qualifications and experience the candidate brings to the position and for internal equity relative to faculty of comparable rank, credential, and discipline within the University. Rank is determined by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs upon recommendation of the Assistant Provost for Academic Administration, based on the candidate's terminal degree, teaching record, scholarly and professional productivity, and years of relevant experience. The following criteria guide rank determination for this search: Assistant Professor Terminal degree in hand at the time of appointment, or master's degree with substantial graduate coursework and significant professional practice in the discipline Evidence of effective teaching or clear potential for excellence in student centered instruction Emerging record of scholarship, applied research, or professional contribution to the field Associate Professor Terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related field A sustained record of effective college level teaching, typically a minimum of five years An established record of scholarship, applied research, professional publication, funded projects, or recognized industry contribution Demonstrated service to the department, institution, discipline, or professional community Professor Terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related field An extensive and distinguished record of college level teaching, typically a minimum of ten years A national or regional reputation established through scholarship, funded research, professional practice, or industry leadership A record of academic leadership, curriculum development, mentorship of colleagues, and sustained institutional service Eligibility for tenure track appointment, where applicable, is determined in accordance with Wiley University policy as published in the Faculty Handbook. Candidates appointed with prior service at another institution may request consideration of that service in accordance with institutional policy. Possible Administrative Appointment as Department Chair Wiley University anticipates that the successful candidate may be appointed to serve concurrently as Chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems and Accounting. This administrative appointment is not guaranteed and will be determined by the qualifications, credentials, administrative experience, and leadership capacity the selected candidate brings to the position, as recommended by the Assistant Provost for Academic Administration and approved by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Candidates who are not appointed to the chairship at the time of hire remain eligible for future consideration. Candidates who do not wish to be considered for the administrative appointment should indicate this in the cover letter; doing so will not disadvantage the application for the faculty position. Should the administrative appointment be made, the following terms apply: The chairship carries an administrative stipend and a reduced teaching load in accordance with Wiley University policy The appointment is typically a twelve month administrative assignment layered upon the faculty appointment, renewable annually at the discretion of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs The Chair reports to the Assistant Provost for Academic Administration for administrative matters Departmental responsibilities include course scheduling and faculty load assignment, adjunct recruitment and supervision, faculty credentialing documentation, program assessment and review, budget recommendation and monitoring, advisory board and industry engagement, student advising oversight, and accreditation reporting for both Computer Information Systems and Accounting Chair responsibilities are held in addition to, not in place of, the faculty responsibilities described below
