Plan, coordinate, and deliver staff education, onboarding, and ongoing competency programs Assess learning needs and implement targeted training to ensure regulatory compliance and quality care Provide real-time coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to nursing staff Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support quality improvement and survey readiness Maintain accurate records of staff training, competencies, and certifications Provide essential personal care, including bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility, and positioning support.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Alaska Minimum of two (2) years of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing Strong understanding of long-term care regulations, nursing standards, and compliance requirements Knowledge of adult learning principles and staff education best practices Experience with infection control, dementia care, abuse prevention, and safe resident handling Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds, with sufficient mobility and dexterity to perform clinical and training dutiesENVIRONMENT
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. This role primarily operates in a long-term care clinical setting, with a mix of classroom-style education and hands-on patient care. The position requires flexibility to adapt to changing staffing needs, priorities, and schedules while maintaining a strong presence on the unit.
