Barobo is seeking a K-12 Computer Science Education Specialist to join our learning and curriculum team in Davis, California. This position will serve as a subject-matter specialist in computer science education, with a strong focus on C programming, curriculum development, coding and robotics, and teacher professional learning. The Specialist will develop K-12 computer science curriculum and instructional resources, conduct hands-on professional development for educators, and support schools and districts implementing RoboBlocky programs. The Specialist will also be trained across the RoboBlocky Math, Computer Science, STEAM, and Expanded Learning curricula to provide introductory professional development and implementation support across programs. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong programming and problem-solving skills with a passion for education and the ability to make computer science concepts accessible and engaging for teachers and students. PLEASE NOTE
This is not a remote position. The successful candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance of Davis, CA, or be willing to relocate. Responsibilities Develop standards-based K-12 computer science curriculum, lessons, projects, assessments, and instructional resources. Develop curriculum and professional learning materials for teaching C programming. Develop hands-on coding and robotics activities for K-12 students. Conduct in-person and online professional development for educators. Lead in-depth training in C programming, computer science, coding, robotics, and computational thinking. Integrate computer science, coding, and robotics with mathematics, STEAM, and engineering design. Support schools and districts implementing RoboBlocky curriculum, software, and robotics. Work with teachers to gather feedback and improve curriculum and professional learning resources. Collaborate with Barobo's learning, curriculum, engineering, and product teams. Support workshops, demonstrations, conferences, and other educational events. Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment. Requirements Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, STEM education, or a related field. Strong proficiency in C programming and fundamental computer science concepts. Ability to explain programming concepts clearly to teachers and students. Strong interest in K-12 computer science education. Experience developing curriculum or instructional content is preferred. Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, workshop, or professional development experience is preferred. Robotics, Arduino, sensors, physical computing, or electronics experience is a plus. Strong mathematics background is desirable. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Self-starter with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment. Available for occasional travel to schools, districts, conferences, and professional development events. Must work full-time in person at Barobo's Davis office. Must be US citizen. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $110,000. An individual's base salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
