Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic In Person Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities. In this vital role, you will create an inclusive learning environment that fosters growth, independence, and confidence for students with diverse needs. Your expertise will help students develop essential academic, social, and behavioral skills through innovative instructional strategies and collaborative teamwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners while utilizing your specialized knowledge in special education. Duties Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring compliance with special education law and standards. Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, literacy education, math, and educational technology integration to support diverse learning styles. Adapt instructional modifications and behavior management strategies for students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to coordinate student support services. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral therapy methods to promote a safe and productive learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships. Utilize assessment tools such as standardized testing to monitor student achievement and adjust instruction accordingly. Experience Prior classroom experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting is required. Demonstrated expertise in teaching students with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or autism spectrum disorders is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education law, and instructional modifications is essential. Experience working with individuals requiring speech therapy or behavioral health support is advantageous. Familiarity with early childhood education principles, preschool or Montessori settings, and childcare practices enhances your ability to meet young learners' needs. Proven skills in collaboration, communication, classroom management, and behavior management for students with special needs are critical for success. Pay:
$60.00 - $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
