We support students with learning differences by providing individualized, evidence-based educational therapy designed to help students close learning gaps, develop effective learning strategies, build confidence, and become more independent learners. Our providers work with students across a variety of learning profiles, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Sensory Processing Differences, Autism, Twice Exceptional, and other learning and processing differences. We believe effective educational support goes beyond academics. We look at the whole student and consider how learning differences, executive functioning, processing, confidence, and emotional well-being can impact a student's ability to learn. Our team is made up of experienced educational therapists, learning specialists, reading specialists, and educators who are passionate about helping students make meaningful, measurable progress. We are currently seeking an Education Specialist to join our team in Sorrento Valley and/or Encinitas. The Role As an Education Specialist, you will provide individualized educational therapy to students while collaborating closely with families, schools, and other professionals. You will be responsible for understanding each student's unique learning profile, developing individualized goals, implementing targeted instruction, monitoring progress, and communicating meaningful updates to families. This is a role for an educator who enjoys both the relationship side and the clinical/educational side of the work. Key ResponsibilitiesIndividualized Educational Therapy Provide one-on-one educational intervention to students in a private practice setting. Develop individualized instructional plans based on each student's strengths, needs, learning profile, and goals. Provide explicit, systematic, multisensory instruction when appropriate. Target academic skills including reading, phonics, decoding, encoding, spelling, reading fluency, reading comprehension, written expression, mathematics, and/or executive functioning. Adapt instruction based on student response and ongoing progress monitoring. Help students develop strategies that increase independence, confidence, and self-advocacy. Use engaging and creative approaches to maintain student motivation while maintaining high instructional expectations. Assessment & Progress Monitoring Review available educational and psychoeducational evaluations, IEPs, 504 Plans, school records, and other relevant documentation. Conduct informal educational assessments and skill-based probes as appropriate. Establish measurable educational therapy goals based on assessment data and student needs. Monitor student progress consistently throughout the intervention. Complete formal progress reviews/reevaluations approximately every three months. Use data to determine whether instructional approaches should be continued, modified, or intensified. Clearly communicate student progress and areas of continued need to families. Family Communication Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress, goals, and areas of focus. Provide families with meaningful updates beyond simply reporting what occurred during a session. Help parents understand their child's learning profile and how they can support learning at home. Communicate professionally and proactively when concerns arise. Participate in parent meetings, consultations, and school meetings when appropriate and approved. School & Professional Collaboration Collaborate with classroom teachers, learning specialists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other professionals when appropriate. Participate in Student Support Team (SST), IEP, 504, and other school meetings as requested and approved. Share relevant information regarding student progress and instructional needs while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Help create consistency between educational therapy, school expectations, and other interventions. Documentation & Professional Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely session notes. Maintain current educational therapy goals and progress data for each student. Complete required progress reports and documentation within ARG timelines. Communicate schedule changes and availability in a timely manner. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Follow ARG policies, procedures, documentation standards, and communication expectations. Take ownership of assigned students and follow through on commitments to families and the ARG team. Education & Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field Experience working with school-aged students Strong understanding of learning differences and individualized instruction Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage student responsibilities effectively

Preferred:

Master's degree or graduate-level coursework in Education, Special Education, Educational Therapy, Reading, Learning Disabilities, Psychology, or a related field Experience providing educational therapy or specialized academic instruction Experience working with students with Dyslexia, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Autism, or other learning differences Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell, IMSE, or other structured literacy training Experience interpreting educational or psychoeducational assessments Experience collaborating with schools, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams Why ARG?
