  • Education Specialist (mild-moderate) Taylion Academy Reports to: Director of Schools Candidates should live in Siskiyou, Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, or Modoc Counties in Northern, CA.
Position Overview Support for the instructional program for students with special needs; Pertinent information and consultant services to staff members and parents; Ongoing student assessment and evaluation; Ongoing planning with regular classroom teachers and also promotes and supports the school Student Study Team/SST. Support in all the content areas. Develops educational plans (IEPs) for the purpose of meeting the individual needs of exceptional students Evaluates students for the purpose of identifying student needs Coordinates services to students for the purpose of ensuring efficient instructions and an effective cohesive program Supports students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student's goals and objectives Consults/collaborates with staff, parents, and agencies for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services and adherence to due process Knowledge and skill to provide instruction in the areas of English language Arts, math, and algebra Attend SELPA training meetings as needed
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
  • Special Education Credential or in the credentialing process Teaching experience preferred
Mathematical Skills:
Mastery of basic math and Algebra.
Technology Skills:
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, communicate via email, Google Docs Knowledge, Skill and abilities
Preferred:
Reasoning Ability:
Able to initiate tasks, plan, and problem solve
Personal Qualities:
Reliable, team player, flexible Transport and carry 25lbs of materials/equipment to service and evaluate students Develop and implement and IEP; knowledge of common core standards
