YEAR INSTRUCTIONAL COACH FOR DIGITAL LEARNING CENTER FOR GLOBAL STUDIES/PTECH HIGH SCHOOL
Position Description:
The Instructional Coach for Digital Learning is a dynamic and innovative educator skilled in facilitating student-centered digital learning across various subjects. This role is essential in coaching teachers and teams to implement the district's digital curriculum effectively and to integrate technology in a problem-based learning environment. The coach will be a crucial member of the school's Instructional Leadership Team, responsible for enhancing digital literacy, promoting high-quality instruction, and supporting the diverse needs of learners.
Essential Functions:
Provide job-embedded professional development and coaching to support the effective implementation of digital tools and resources, spending approximately 70% of the day working with staff, which includes class non-evaluative observations, planning, modeling, and co-teaching. Play an active role in the school's Instructional Leadership Team, contributing to the goals of the School Improvement Plan with a focus on digital learning strategies and participating in both in-person and online learning models. The coach will attend meetings as needed and in accordance with their coaching schedule. Facilitate access to core curriculum through digital platforms for all learners, including Multilingual Learners and Students with Disabilities, while managing the documentation needs for the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools model, such as the annual portfolio and surveys (with Admin) Work collaboratively with teachers to implement targeted digital interventions for individual student needs and data-driven strategies to improve instructional practices. Apply adult learning principles to support teachers and teams through coaching, modeling, and facilitating professional learning in digital pedagogy. Build strong relationships with teachers, paraprofessionals, and the wider school community to foster a culture of digital learning. This includes supporting staff to integrate digital citizenship Collaborate with subject-specific coaches to ensure a coherent approach to integrating digital tools across all areas of learning. Design and facilitate workshops for families to support digital learning at home. Workshops will be offered after school hours by mutual agreement between admin and coach and will be compensated for at the contracted PD rate. Collaborating with building leadership and technicians to develop systems related to maintenance and device responsibility
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teachers and students in digital learning. Deep understanding of digital pedagogy, online curriculum development, and the integration of technology in education. Proven track record of enhancing student engagement and achievement through digital learning tools and resources. Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with experience in coaching and professional development. Familiarity with current educational technology trends, digital literacy, and online safety practices.
Qualifications:
Valid Professional Educator License with endorsements relevant to digital learning or technology integration. Master's degree in education, Educational Technology, or a related field. Minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience, preferably with experience in digital curriculum design or instructional technology. Previous experience as a Digital Coach, Instructional Technology Specialist, or similar role preferred
