About the Role & Team As an Instructional Designer for Disney Vacation Club Learning & Development, you will partner with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and leaders to analyze learning needs, design effective learner-centered experiences, leverage technology, and deliver content across a variety of modalities including e-learning, instructor-led training, virtual training, performance support tools, and blended learning solutions. This role requires a mindset that embraces creativity, continuous improvement, collaboration, and results-oriented outcomes to develop engaging learning solutions that drive performance and support business objectives. You will report to the Manager, Learning & Development. This is a Full-Time role. What You Will Do You will create engaging learning experiences that help Cast Members build knowledge, develop skills, and drive business results. Working closely with subject matter experts, business leaders, and stakeholders, you will identify learning needs, design and develop innovative solutions, leverage learning technologies, and measure effectiveness to ensure learning programs support performance improvement and organizational goals. Success in this role requires a creative, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset, along with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering exceptional learner experiences across a variety of formats and platforms. Learning Strategy & Design Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leaders to conduct needs analyses, identify performance gaps, and uncover learning opportunities that support business objectives while applying instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE, to create effective learning solutions. Design engaging, accessible, and inclusive learning experiences that drive behavior change and performance improvement across multiple delivery methods, including e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning environments. Develop learning objectives, scripts, storyboards, facilitator guides, learner guides, assessments, and job aids while incorporating innovative approaches such as storytelling, scenario-based learning, simulations, and gamification to enhance learner engagement and retention. Content Development & Technology Develop digital learning content using tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, PowerPoint, and other learning technologies, while packaging and deploying content in required formats, including SCORM-compliant learning assets. Leverage emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools to enhance learning effectiveness, learner engagement, and operational efficiency while ensuring all deliverables meet quality, accessibility, functionality, and Disney brand standards. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to align learning solutions with organizational goals, facilitate design reviews, and provide recommendations based on instructional design best practices and evidence-based learning principles. Project Management Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously by developing project plans, coordinating timelines, meeting deadlines, and proactively identifying risks and mitigation strategies while maintaining high-quality deliverables. Communicate project status, challenges, and resource needs in a timely and professional manner while building strong partnerships with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Measure learning effectiveness through assessments, analytics, stakeholder feedback, and quality assurance reviews, then analyze learner and business performance data to implement improvements and maintain learning content for ongoing relevance and impact. Required Qualifications & Skills 3+ years of instructional design, learning development, content development, or related experience. Experience designing learning solutions across multiple modalities, including instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels. Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications. Experience using e-learning authoring tools and content development platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond, or similar tools. Knowledge of learning management systems and learning content repositories. Experience using AI tools to support instructional design workflows. Experience facilitating training and Train-the-Trainer programs. Knowledge of modern learning methodologies and learning analytics. Education Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field is required. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Education, or a related discipline is preferred. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
