NoJOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting staff and faculty in instructional design, the virtual campus, and computing services.Duties include:
providing training and instruction; researching data and information; and making recommendations for upgrades in hardware, software, equipment, and current technology in the field.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees activities, analyzes, and provides training and support to staff and faculty in designing and creating coursework curriculum and delivery. Plans, implements, and analyzes technological solutions in an academic environment; defines requirements for useful, logical, and effective solutions. Coordinates online course technologies which require: conferring with faculty to determine needs and technology capabilities; training and supporting users; and administering course software. Develops and maintains internal and external partnerships to maximize effectiveness for educational programs and market offerings to outside sources. Conducts research related to academic technologies and makes recommendations for hardware and software upgrades. Researches, identifies, analyzes, and integrates teaching and learning methodologies and technologies to achieve learning outcomes, engage students, promote active learning, and improve student success. Constructs course components in the Learning Management System (LMS) such as: news items; syllabus; modules; instructions; content pages; discussion questions; drop boxes; quizzes; grades area; grading criteria/rubrics; links; and website articles. Advises faculty in the design, development, and delivery of online courses and other modalities. Manages the design and development of online course projects including course content, course assessments, and learning activities. Troubleshoots higher-level instructional technology issues for faculty. Facilitates peer and dean course reviews. Partners with College-wide technical support personnel and faculty. May develop training materials, presentations, and resources for faculty. May deliver non-academic training courses; archive information and course materials for staff, management, funding agencies, and legal requests; and provide instructional design options to funders, subject matter experts, instructors, and training coordinators involved in developing and/or revising face-to-face and online courses. May train new employees. Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master¿s Degree in Education or a related field; three (3) years of related work experience implementing and utilizing instructional technology; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
