POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Education Specialist will collaborate with leadership and other educators across the system to develop, coordinate, and implement Evidenced Based Education and Professional Development Programs to promote safe and effective customer/patient centered care. The Clinical Education Specialist will be primarily focused on one of the following areas: Cardiology/Critical Care, Neurologic/Orthopedic Care, Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby/Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical/Oncology, Medical/Surgical/PCU, Emergency/Trauma Care, Surgical/Perioperative Care, and Residency Programs as assigned based on business needs.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Leads education initiatives for large scale implementations and practice changes. Oversees Evidence Based Practice updates for our nursing care delivery model as Subject Matter Experts. Manages multiple education projects including EHR enhancements and clinical projects. Serves as consultants for leaders regarding clinical practice, clinical products and care delivery Prepares reports as needed to reflect on associate training, while developing, supporting, and advising education plans for areas outside of nursing. Ensures competencies reflect best practice and are compliant with organizational policy and procedures. Analyzes and disseminates current medical and nursing literature for utilization in the expansion and improvement of patient care outcomes. Functions as a Change Agent and Leader to support change. Evaluates organizational effectiveness in education and integrate innovative, creative perspectives into the educator role. Performs learning needs assessments by using a variety of strategies and tools to facilitate practice and process changes in area of expertise. Work ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) prior to start date or enrolled in MSN program and set to complete program within three (3) years of start date.Work Experience:
Three (3) years of clinical experience in specialty area.Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained. Board Certification in a Clinical Specialty area within two (2) years of start date: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) OR Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) OR Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) OR Any other related certification(s).Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Oral, auditory, and written skills; facilitate in a group or one-on-one setting. Problem Solve issues and challenges that may surface to achieve desired outcome. Prioritize and plan work and projects to meet deadlines. Demonstrate working knowledge of Lean and practices in Lean projects.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Five (5) years of clinical education experience in specialty area.Certification:
Board certification in clinical specialty.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined.
