Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is offered through Adult Crisis Center that provides brief intervention and referral for adults who are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis. Duties include working as part of a care support team that provides brief medical assessments that include medical history, risk assessment, taking vital signs, conducting drug (UA) and pregnancy tests, monitoring patient status and administering prescribed medications as necessary. Experience or education in the behavioral health field is preferred but not required. Since the Center is open 365 days per year, 24 hours per day, a variety of shifts may be available including evening and weekend hours.

AM Job Duties:
Must be trained in CPR/First Aid, Blood born Pathogens (Universal Precautions), and maintain that certification in active status Must have a working knowledge of community resources and how to access them Must have time management & organization skills necessary to meet strict paperwork guidelines Must be able to articulate and demonstrate motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in treatment process Good written and verbal skills to communicate with referral sources participants, families and other associated professionals Leadership skills to empower, mentor and encourage participants, staff and families Knowledge and ability to communicate with individuals with moderate to profound impairments that may have difficulty expressing their wants and needs in a conventional manner, or whom may have unpredictable or difficult behavior Knowledge of risks associated with suicidality or self-harm Training associated with administering Narcan and other medications to address symptoms of active drug use Knowledge of use of medical apparatus to monitor patient's vital signs and care Must be able to engage with clients in a positive and supportive manner, understanding the need to reduce the stress associated with the crisis. Must be willing to engage in crisis prevention and de-escalation training to address needs of clients at the Center Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary care team to de-escalate the crisis and help the client and family access resources to meet their needs
Qualifications:
LPNs and EMTs must hold a current certification or license in good standing with the ability to practice in the State of Idaho. Must be willing to do light housekeeping as part of essential job duties. Must be willing to respond as a team to situations that may require crisis prevention or de-escalation of behavior. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal history background check Must be willing and able to comply with initial and random drug testing policies.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
