You'll lead educational presentations and counseling sessions, help shape the substance abuse curriculum, and work alongside a team of professionals dedicated to making real, lasting change in clients' lives.

Responsibilities include:

Providing relevant substance abuse information for class curriculum Facilitating didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions Selecting and recommending new instructional materials and programs for the substance abuse program Staying current on new developments in the substance abuse field Maintaining collegial relationships with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations Completing required testing, assessments, and psychosocial histories for incoming residents Participating in ongoing substance abuse-related training

Requirements and Qualifications:

Counseling experience with a criminal justice population in a substance abuse program, or Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification Ability to interact professionally in both individual and group counseling settings Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong teamwork skills with the ability to implement team-based strategies Comfortable working with computers and department-standard software Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) may be required, along with experience working with specific cultural groups Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Knowledge of client record management Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and an enhanced background check About the
