Job Description

Position Information Position Title Curriculum Resource Manager Job Description Job Summary The Curriculum Resource Manager supports the work of Hillsdale's K-12 Education Office by ensuring that its network of classical schools has access to the best possible curricular resources. This involves maintaining and improving existing resource recommendations, identifying deficiencies in current recommendations and finding or creating materials to address them, and managing the ongoing revision of curriculum resources produced by the K-12 Education Office. Essential Job Functions Maintain up-to-date information about recommended student and teacher materials listed in the office's Program Guide and Bill of Materials, monitoring for availability changes and quality concerns and supporting schools in acquiring the resources they need. With the Director of Curriculum, identify deficiencies in current recommendations and remedy these by researching and evaluating additions or replacements that align with the office's vision for classical curriculum. Collaborate with members of the Curriculum Team to identify resource creation needs and to contribute to their production through writing, editing, and/or project management. Maintain and improve previously produced curriculum resources by responding to user feedback and by tracking developments in related areas of the curriculum. Revisions may involve editing for content, structure, coherence, style, and mechanics. Give occasional in-person presentations at trainings, conferences, and school visits, and appear in teacher training videos. Required Qualifications Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The additional qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience An undergraduate degree in the humanities, sciences, or a related field and at least 3 years of teaching experience in a classical school are required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess principled knowledge of an integrated, classical K-12 curriculum and who demonstrate mastery of classical pedagogical practices. Other Skills Other Skills Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage projects (often involving contract workers) and meet deadlines. Ability to evaluate resources across subjects and grade levels. A deep understanding of the K-12 Office's best practices regarding classical curriculum and pedagogy.
