POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Design & Facilitation Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering learning content and facilitated experiences across Barton Malow's Talent Development programs. This role partners with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to build engaging, outcomes-focused training spanning the Training Matrix curriculum areas, leadership development, and enterprise initiatives, and personally facilitates programs in both virtual and in-person settings, giving the Talent Development team the design and delivery capacity needed to scale learning across the organization.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•: Instructional Design & Curriculum Development Design and develop engaging, outcomes-based learning content, including facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, e-learning modules, and assessments, for programs across the Training Matrix curriculum areas (Safety & Compliance, Technical Building Skills, Technology Enablement, Business Acumen, Management & Leadership, and Foundational Skills). Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to translate business needs and subject matter expertise into effective, scalable training solutions. Facilitation & Program Delivery Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and leadership programs in both virtual and in-person settings, creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for participants at all levels of the organization, including field and craft team members. Adapt facilitation style and pacing to diverse audiences and serve as a model of high-quality delivery for other facilitators across the team. Needs Assessment & Content Strategy Partner with the Talent Development team, HR Business Partners, and business stakeholders to conduct training needs assessments and translate findings into content recommendations and design plans. Support content strategy for major initiatives ensuring alignment with business priorities and the Training Matrix. Stakeholder & Vendor Partnership Collaborate with subject matter experts, external instructional design partners, and vendors to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience. Support the coordination and quality review of externally developed training content, escalating requests involving new vendor relationships or expanded scope to the Director of Talent Development. Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Gather and analyze participant feedback, completion data, and facilitator observations to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend content or delivery improvements. Maintain training content in WeBUILD Learning in accordance with LMS governance standards, and escalate requests involving system configuration, curricula structure, or other enterprise-impacting decisions to Talent Development leadership.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS
Primarily office-based with regular in-person facilitation. Travel to Barton Malow offices and jobsites for training delivery is a regular part of this role and may be required based on program and business needs.
