• Licensed (non-evaluative coaching position) About the role We're hiring a K-5 Instructional Coach to partner with elementary teachers across two Concept Schools MN campuses, Horizon Science Academy Twin Cities (K-8, Richfield) and Minnesota Math and Science Academy (K-12, St. Paul), to strengthen instruction and help every student thrive.

This is a regional role:

you'll split your time between both buildings and become a trusted thought partner to teachers at every stage of their career. This position also serves as our Literacy Lead under the Minnesota READ Act, guiding our structured-literacy work and supporting reading achievement across both schools. It's an ideal fit for an experienced educator who loves the science of reading and gets energized by helping other adults grow. This is a non-evaluative role. You'll coach, model, and support, you won't supervise or evaluate the teachers you work with. That's what makes real, trusting coaching relationships possible. What you'll do Lead collaborative coaching cycles, co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, observing, and giving reflective feedback Support faithful implementation of our adopted K-5 curricula and evidence-based instructional practices Help teams use screening and assessment data to plan responsive instruction within our MnTSS framework Design and facilitate professional learning, PLCs, and team meetings Build teacher capacity so strong practices stick long after the coaching cycle ends Travel regularly between our two campuses to support teachers equitably As Literacy Lead, you'll also Guide implementation of the Minnesota READ Act across both schools Support school-based coaches and staff in structured literacy, interventions, and curriculum delivery Lead literacy-focused teacher training and professional development Help develop educators' personal learning plans and train paraprofessionals to support classroom literacy Partner with the Regional Literacy Lead and Minnesota Service Cooperative Support universal reading screening, data reporting, and the annual Local Literacy Plan submission to MDE What we're looking for Valid Minnesota teaching license (PELSB) Successful elementary teaching experience Deep knowledge of the science of reading and the five components of literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension) Completion of , or willingness to complete , MDE-approved structured literacy training (e.g., LETRS) within the required timeline A gift for working with adult learners and building trusting, confidential relationships Comfort using data to drive instructional decisions Reliable transportation for travel between our St. Paul and Richfield campuses Nice to have Prior instructional coaching or teacher-leadership experience Reading/literacy license or specialist credential Experience with MnTSS/MTSS and universal screening tools Willingness to pursue the certified trained facilitator pathway [Master's degree in a relevant field] Why join us Concept Schools MN is part of a nonprofit, STEM-focused, college-preparatory charter network dedicated to opening doors for students in historically underserved communities.
