08/04/2026 K-12 Literacy Coach, Manville School District 10 month + 10 days in the summer position The Manville School District seeks a knowledgeable and collaborative K–12 Literacy Coach to help build equitable, evidence-based literacy practices across all four schools. This role will strengthen existing systems and guide a districtwide approach to high-quality literacy instruction using data and coaching partnerships with teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Leadership Establish and facilitate a Literacy Leadership Team (LLT) that includes school and district leaders, educators, and specialists. Partner with the LLT to align literacy programs, instructional materials, and practices to High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM). Instructional Coaching Provide job-embedded coaching, modeling, and feedback to teachers on evidence-based literacy instruction. Use data and universal screeners to inform instructional planning and monitor progress. Professional Learning Design and facilitate professional learning sessions that build teacher capacity in foundational and advanced literacy practices. Participate in all NJDOE-required Literacy Coaching Institutes and monthly statewide meetings. Data & Continuous Improvement Analyze literacy data with school teams to identify needs, monitor student growth, and adjust instructional supports. Maintain coaching logs and documentation for grant reporting and fidelity monitoring. System Building & Sustainability Identify and address barriers to implementing evidence-based literacy instruction. Support leaders in protecting time for coaching and sustaining literacy practices beyond the grant period.
Qualifications:
Required NJ Teaching Certification Demonstrated success in improving student literacy outcomes through classroom instruction or coaching Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and NJSLS–ELA Experience collaborating with educators across grade levels Preferred Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field Reading Specialist or Literacy Coaching Certification Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment systems Familiarity with HQIM implementation and grant-funded program work Strong facilitation and communication skills

Salary Range:
$66,705 - $95,850 based on years of experience and level of education Manville School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
