About the Charter School of Inquiry (CSI) The Charter School of Inquiry (CSI) is a vibrant school community that is responding to the academic and social needs of approximately 300 students in grades K-6, primarily from Buffalo's Eastside. CSI is a unique community-based school that has emerged as a trusted institution for families in its Eastside neighborhood. CSI successfully implements its unique, ground-breaking key design elements. Most notably, the school-wide use of the Inquiry Learning Model that fosters critical thinking and problem solving, and African and African-American infusion into all curricular areas, which allows all children to benefit from a better understanding of the history, culture, and contributions of African and African-American peoples. Required Qualifications Minimum of five years of successful experience in an elementary or secondary educational environment. Minimum of two years of supervisory/leadership or instructional coaching experience in an educational setting. General knowledge of New York State Assessments and the Computer Based Testing (CBT). Proven success collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data for instructional purposes. Proven success using technology for instruction and assessment Experience with remote instruction Excel Experience Using Technology As an Instructional Tool Experience with Google Apps for Education, Google Docs, iPad Keyboard, Microsoft Office, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Smart Boards Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills. Three professional references. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an urban educational setting. Experience in a charter school setting Training in the administration of the New York State (NYS) Computer Based Testing (CBT) Experience using Star Assessments for the purpose of gathering data to support high-quality teaching and learning. Experience using GoGuardian Experience creating and presenting data reports Experience working with teachers on the effective use of data to drive instruction. New York State SBL, SAS or SDA certification Knowledge of charter school law and oversight requirements Performance Responsibilities Data and Instructional Technology/Special Projects Coordinator Is responsible for gathering assessment data, coordinating benchmark assessments, and overseeing the technical components of progress monitoring and checkpoint assessments; ensures that all students have access to instructional technology; generates proficiency and data reports; coordinates the administration of the New York State Computer Based Testing; ensures that teachers and members of the leadership team have the necessary data to monitor student progress and assess the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction. Responsible for special projects creation, implementation, and execution as it relates to school events, programs, and business. Other dueites as assigned by the Head of School/Leadership team. The Charter School of Inquiry promotes a collaborative model of leadership.
