Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School English Teacher to inspire and engage students in grades six through eight. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for language arts, develop critical thinking, and nurture creativity among young learners. The ideal candidate will bring energy, innovation, and a collaborative spirit to our vibrant educational community. You will be responsible for designing compelling lessons, implementing technology-enhanced instruction, and supporting students' social and emotional growth within a structured classroom environment. This paid position is integral to shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, including AP (Advanced Placement) English programs and literacy education strategies. Design engaging lessons that incorporate learning technology, educational technology integration, and diverse learning styles to meet the needs of all students. Utilize instructional design principles to create innovative activities that foster creative writing, journalism, social sciences understanding, and linguistic skills. Manage classroom behavior effectively through classroom management techniques, ensuring a positive learning environment conducive to student success. Assess student progress regularly through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional strategies to enhance overall teaching effectiveness. Communicate proactively with parents regarding student performance, behavior management strategies, and progress updates. Incorporate research-based methods for teaching social sciences, math integration where applicable, and working with teenagers' developmental needs. Implement IT-integrated lessons using current learning technology tools and educational software to enhance engagement and understanding. Support students' social-emotional development by mentoring them in their academic journey while fostering a supportive classroom community. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English Education, Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification (or working towards it). Demonstrated experience in classroom management, lesson planning, instructional design, and curriculum development. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents. Experience working with diverse learning styles and adapting instruction accordingly; mentoring or tutoring experience is highly valued. Knowledge of research methods in education as well as higher education teaching practices related to literacy education and social sciences instruction. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Pay:
$45,109.63 - $60,347.08 per year
