Job Description

Assistant Director of Curriculum & Child Development — 2:00-6:00 PM Oversee curriculum implementation, help teachers with weekly/monthly lesson planning, identify classroom resources and materials, support teachers with developmentally appropriate practices, coordinate ASQ developmental screenings and family follow-up, float into classrooms when needed for ratio/coverage, and serve as the center closer from 2:00-6:00 PM . Assistant Director of Curriculum & Child Development — 2:00-6:00 PM Monday-Friday Responsibilities Classroom quality walkthroughs — Complete regular classroom observations and make sure teachers are following schedules, lesson plans, learning centers, and developmentally appropriate practices. Teacher curriculum check-ins — Meet briefly with teachers weekly to review upcoming lesson plans, activities, materials needed, and classroom concerns. Must be familiar with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies

•Lesson-plan approval — Teachers submit lesson plans to you, review them, request changes when needed, and make sure they're actually being implemented. Classroom supply management Keep a list of curriculum/art supplies needed and organize materials for upcoming themes, activities, and projects. ASQ tracking — Maintain a tracker showing which children need screenings, when they're due, when results were reviewed with families, and when follow-ups are due to director. Developmental support plans — Help teachers plan classroom strategies for children who need additional developmental support and gather appropriate resources for families. Observation/assessment oversight — Make sure teachers are completing required child observations and assessments on schedule. New teacher classroom training — Train new staff on lesson planning, classroom schedules, curriculum expectations, observations, and your center's classroom procedures. Teacher coaching — Work directly with teachers who need support with classroom management, transitions, engagement, routines, or lesson implementation. Classroom environment checks — Make sure bulletin boards, learning centers, children's work, labels, materials, and classroom displays are current and appropriate. School events & educational activities — Help organize spirit weeks, special classroom activities, family engagement projects, field days, graduation activities, etc. Family educational resources — Prepare resources for families based on developmental concerns, ASQ results, kindergarten readiness, behavior, potty training, social-emotional development, and similar needs. Afternoon staffing/ratio management —In charge of watching afternoon ratios, combining classrooms appropriately, moving staff when necessary, and handling coverage. Closing supervision — Make sure closing teachers complete cleaning, classroom reset, attendance, parent communication, and other closing responsibilities. Afternoon parent concerns — Authority to handle routine parent questions or concerns. End-of-day Director report — Before leaving, document anything the director may need to know: staffing issues, child incidents, parent concerns, classroom needs, maintenance issues, for follow-up needed the next evening.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
