Job Description
The Early Childhood Education Instructional Specialist leads the early childhood education lab activities as the children's classroom teacher. Works closely with the staff team to facilitate the operation of a full-day childcare program. Ensures all aspects of classroom teaching align with Early Childhood Education Program coursework and philosophy. Provides information, feedback, and support to practicum students, contributes to parent education program, and collaborates with staff and faculty. This Instructional Specialist role is a 10-month position where benefits will be deducted in May, and July and August are summer recess without pay. Minimum Qualifications:
This level requires an equivalency of two (2) years of full-time work experience in the Knowledge and Skills listed above. This is typically achieved through an Associate's Degree in early childhood education, human development or closely related field- AND•Food handlers and first aid certifications (or ability to obtain these certifications prior to beginning work)•-OR•Two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflect the Knowledge and Skills listed above.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in early childhood education, human development, or a closely related field Bilingual in English and Spanish Knowledge of constructivist theory and practice Two or more years of classroom teaching experience with children ages 0-5 Experience with college lab school or practicum as a staff member or student Experience working or learning with people from a variety of cultural, social, economic, and educational backgroundsSCHEDULE & MODALITY
Regular remote/hybrid work is not a feature of this position. At the supervisor's discretion, exemptions may be made for special projects or responsibilities requiring periodic needed focus time.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 100%, 10-month classified assignment at the pay grade of 12 This position has a 6-month probationary period All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. As a condition of continued employment, this employee must maintain current enrollment in Oregon Criminal History Registry. Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Even though weight lifted may be negligible, it may be rated light work if frequent walking and/or standing is required.VETERANS' PREFERENCE

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
