Description SUMMARY:

Responsible for educational programs on sexual assault issues, other victimization and agency services to schools and the general public. Provide services as part of "On-Call Crisis Intervention" hotline service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and maintain current curricula for presentations. These presentations are to be both general awareness presentations as well as prevention programming When agency overview presentations are given, additional information for victims shall be included, such as direct services available and victims' rights. Present programming to the community, providing information to audiences throughout the lifespan, from preschool to senior citizens. Adapt to and utilize technology in multiple locations throughout the community. Maintain accurate, timely statistical data on presentations given in the community. Develop brochures, handouts and visual aids to be used in conjunction with presentations. Assess educational needs through outcomes measurement. Provide crisis intervention, information, support, and referral as needed when disclosures of assault are made during presentations. Submit ChildLine reports as per state regulations and agency policy. Advertise availability of agency programs to the community. Ensure all provided services are accurately documented and submitted for ETO tracking in a timely manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, other agencies and general public. Participate in conferences, in-services, trainings, seminars, team, and staff meetings. Provide hotline/on-call services nights, weekends, holidays, and as assigned. React productively to change and handle all other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Flexibility in hours of work. Able to drive and travel. Provide copy of valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance ($100,000/$300,000 minimum coverage) upon hire and at renewal. Able to lift/carry/move 50lbs safely and easily including carrying cases. Act 33, Act 34, and FBI fingerprint clearances. Successfully complete victimization training designed to fulfill the requirements of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and sexual assault training as outlined in Statute 42 PA

"Confidential Communications to Sexual Assault Counselors." Able to use agency computer systems and technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in human services field. Able to relate positively to individuals from pre-school age through adulthood. Able to withstand emotional stress. Flexible, able to tolerate many situations and personalities. Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Able to read, analyze and interpret complex documents, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Able to create/develop programs for public presentations. Able to effectively present information and respond to controversial and complex topics one-on-one, before public groups, and before professional groups. Able to write reports, business correspondence, procedural manuals, and materials for publication. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions and solve problems. Able to organize personal area and prioritize tasks effectively. Able to project voice in large, open areas in absence of microphone. Possess auditory acuity to listen to people over the telephone and in person. Possess visual acuity to read computer screen, correspondence, notes, reports, and technical documents. Possess ambulatory ability in a classroom setting and be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Due to the nature of the agency, to ensure suitability to work with children, CVC will conduct a search of the PA Megan's Law Website and the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Registry. To be eligible for employment in this position, the individual may not appear on either site.
