We are seeking passionate and experienced Reading Specialists for two full-time, contract positions, working 35 hours per week onsite with elementary and K8 caseloads. These roles will continue through June 10, 2027, and are ideal for professionals eager to help students thrive in an urban educational setting.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

Active Pennsylvania reading specialist certification and licensure Demonstrated mastery of reading/literacy content, instructional strategies, and resources Experience teaching or supporting reading in a school-based environment Strong classroom and behavioral management skills Experience working effectively in urban school communities Comfortable engaging with students, faculty, and families in diverse settings Reliable transportation to commute onsite each day Able to complete all PA clearances prior to start Familiarity with or commitment to creating and delivering standards-aligned lesson plans, including formative assessment and differentiated instruction

Responsibilities:

Design and implement data-driven reading interventions for K8 students Develop lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards Apply a variety of assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to best support each learner Maintain accurate records related to student progress and instructional planning Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment This position will start as soon as possible and requires an onsite presence throughout the academic year.
