These students may have learning, emotional and/or behavioral challenges and struggle to succeed in a traditional classroom setting. We are looking for a Coordinator of Special Education who is motivated, compassionate and has a calling and passion for helping children. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide oversight, leadership and support for the development and implementation of special education services Ensure compliance with special education documentation, timelines and regulatory Oversee the IEP process which includes scheduling and facilitating meetings, managing and revising the IEPs and coordinating and monitoring services as outlined in the IEPs Supervise the timely and compliant completion of Re-evaluation Reports (RRs) and Evaluation Reports (ERs) in alignment with IDEA requirements Administer and manage the Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA) process, including student eligibility, test administration, and reporting Coordinate and conduct pre- and post-assessments for Extended School Year (ESY) services Facilitate ESY determination meetings and ensure completion of all required documentation Qualities best suited for the position: Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and compliance requirements Strong knowledge of special education practices, IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements Ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with school districts, families, staff, and community partners Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor, sound judgment, dependability, and a strong work ethic Ability to provide staff training, mentoring, coaching, and ongoing professional development Requirements Bachelors degree in Special Education required Masters degree with principal certification and/or special education supervisor certificate preferred Valid PA Special Education teaching certification required Minimum of five years experience working with youth in special education required Supervisory experience preferred Must be at least 21 years of age Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance Benefits Student loan repayment program $1500 sign on bonus $2000 relocation assistance Referral bonuses 4 weeks of Paid Time Off in the first year of employment Medical, dental and vision Coverage 401(k) Life insurance Free parking and meals Advanced training opportunities and continuing education credits We are committed to advocacy for children with special needs, care and compassion, and focusing on the inherent strengths of children, youth and families without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or gender.
