Category Schools - Reading Specialist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in literacy instruction to an engaging contract role as a Reading Specialist, supporting students and educators near Reynoldsville, PA. You'll collaborate closely with teachers and instructional staff, building a cohesive system that nurtures student growth in reading and writing. This role focuses on boosting student achievement with evidence-based reading interventions and data-informed instructional strategies. In this dynamic environment, you'll primarily work with small groups of about six students, rotating every 30 minutes. Some sessions may involve "push-in" support within classrooms, ensuring flexibility as you address diverse learning needs. Following the traditional teacher schedule, you'll have the opportunity to make a substantial impact while working in a collaborative and supportive school culture.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Pennsylvania State Educator License with Reading Specialist endorsement At least two years of recent teaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of assessment-driven instruction and reading intervention techniques Excellent communication and collaboration skills A passion for fostering literacy skills in elementary learners
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze assessment data to identify student needs, monitor progress, and inform instruction Deliver targeted interventions and direct reading instruction to small groups Support classroom teachers with up-to-date, research-based literacy strategies Coordinate with other professionals to build a comprehensive literacy support system Adapt instruction for individual and group needs
