- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan Bachelor?s degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience Two or more years of RN experience, with at least two years directly related to the care of adult medical and surgical patients in an acute care inpatient setting Experience as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and/or participation in unit

Desired Qualifications- BSN preferred; MSN preferred Med-Surg Certification (RN-BC, CMSRN) preferred Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice within adult acute care (medical-surgical/general medicine population preferred) Minimum of 2 years of charge nurse experience and preceptor/teaching experience, with evidence of progressive leadership responsibilities; prior Educational Nurse Coordinator (ENC) experience preferred Strong knowledge and application of adult learning principles, with demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs Proven ability to develop preceptors, facilitate orientation, and support staff development, including remediation when needed Demonstrated experience in quality improvement (QI/CQI) initiatives, including use of data-driven and evidence-based approaches to improve patient outcomes and nursing practice Ability to facilitate change, lead practice improvements, and support initiatives aligned with unit and organizational goals Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including prioritization, delegation, and evaluation of outcomes Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to: Provide clear, constructive feedback Foster collaboration across disciplines and shifts Build positive, professional relationships with 6A nursing and assistive staff Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and support team development, creating an environment of psychological safety, open communication, and continuous learning Proven ability to collaborate with nursing leadership to address clinical and operational challenges Experience participating in or leading unit, departmental, or hospital committees, with a track record of engagement and accountability Proficiency in technology and documentation systems (e.

Primarily Day Shift. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the unit across all shifts, including evening and night shift hours, as determined by leadership, institutional priorities, and unit needs. The 6A ENC will be 80% productive and 20% nonproductive.Location:
University Hospital ? 6A, a 32-bed General Medicine acute care inpatient unit.
