Job Description

Position Title:

Instructional Designer Belhaven University, a Christian university committed to the ministry of integrating biblical truth and learning, is searching for the ideal candidate for Director of Canvas Academic Services and Online Tech Support who has a heart for Christ Jesus and students. Overview The Instructional Designer (ID) works with Curriculum Developers to complete assigned new courses and course revisions. The ID also supports the other Instructional Designers and Video Specialists. Functions and Responsibilities

• Meet with Curriculum Developers following the process described in the Instructional Design Handbook and the ELearning Knowledge Base. o Review, format, and edit all development materials to ensure they meet University standards and format the final syllabus for each new course or major revision. o Maintain workflow documents to ensure processes are well documented. Keep project progress updated on Monday.com and communicate with coworkers via MS Teams. Keep documents up-to-date and organized in the Curriculum Drive. o Build out new courses in the LMS, following best practices and department protocols. o Create course videos using AI, following procedures set by the Video Specialist

• Cross-trained to support the Video Specialist in recording and editing videos for Canvas Courses when called upon

• Other duties as assigned by the Assoc. Qualifications Master's degree in a related field, preferably a Masters degree in Instructional Design Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential Strong proofreading skills to produce error-free documents Preferred 1-3 years experience working in Curriculum or Instructional Design Preferred completion of Canvas Certified Educator certification Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of NotebookLM video creation Must be detail-oriented and highly organized. Excellent interpersonal skills with a problem-solving attitude Applicants must be able to fully support the University vision, mission and statement of faithand contribute to the spiritual and academic fellowship of the University. Compensation Compensation and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University supplements major medical insurance. A 403b retirement plan is available for eligible employees to contribute pre-tax dollars with Belhaven University matching up to 8% of annual salary.
