Work Schedule:
Hybrid. This is a term-limited position approved for up to 18 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs and funding. Help shape the future of work across Pinellas County! As our Instructional Designer & Facilitator - Workday HCM , you will play an important role in helping employees confidently navigate a major technology transformation. You will translate complex Workday functionality and business processes into engaging, accessible learning experiences that build capability, support change adoption, and prepare employees for long-term success. Working closely with Human Resources, Learning & Development (L&D), Information Technology, Finance, departmental stakeholders, and implementation partners, you will design, develop, and deliver learning solutions for an enterprise-wide Workday implementation spanning HR/HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and Learning, with additional learning touchpoints related to Workday Financial Management. What Would You Do? Learning and Development Develop and sustain training programs for diverse learner groups using adult learning principles and learner-centered design. Create engaging, scalable learning experiences that strengthen knowledge retention and support successful system adoption. Identify opportunities to improve the learner experience through innovative instructional and facilitation practices. Instructional Design Design instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning solutions aligned with organizational standards and adult learning principles. Create implementation-focused materials, including eLearning modules, job aids, quick-reference guides, videos, and facilitator guides. Translate Workday functionality and related business processes into clear, practical, and user-friendly learning content. Ensure learning solutions are accessible, scalable, and aligned with enterprise change-management strategies. Develop measurable learning objectives and evaluation tools to assess understanding, effectiveness, and organizational impact. Facilitation and Learning Delivery Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training for employees, leaders, and system administrators. Adapt delivery methods for diverse audiences, including frontline employees, supervisors, and executive leaders. Support train-the-trainer initiatives that build internal facilitation and support capacity. Gather and apply learner feedback to continuously improve learning content and delivery. Workday Platform Enablement Support the implementation and deployment of learning content within Workday Learning. Partner with HRIS, IT, Finance, and implementation vendors to align learning activities with system design, testing, and rollout milestones. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) from a learning and user-experience perspective. Support post-launch optimization, content updates, and learning governance. Project Management & Coordination Manage learning and training projects from planning through implementation, ensuring deliverables align with Workday implementation milestones. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables. Coordinate work across L&D, HR/HRIS, IT, Finance, subject matter experts, departmental stakeholders, and implementation partners. Monitor progress, identify risks and barriers, and communicate recommended solutions to project and L&D leadership. Manage multiple concurrent deliverables, facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and promote stakeholder accountability. Stakeholder Partnership & Change Support Partner with HR Business Partners, department leaders, and subject matter experts to assess learning needs. Contribute to change-management and communication activities supporting the Workday implementation. Serve as a learning consultant by recommending effective strategies for system and process transitions. Build trust, navigate sensitive or complex issues, and maintain productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Track learning participation and effectiveness to support reporting and continuous improvement. What Do You Need To Have? At least five years of experience in instructional design and facilitation, including learning analysis, curriculum development, and project management. Demonstrated experience developing project plans and timelines, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, managing concurrent deliverables, and tracking risks and dependencies. Experience supporting a large-scale system implementation or organizational transformation; Workday implementation experience is preferred. Experience designing and delivering blended learning solutions. Working knowledge of learning management systems, learning experience platforms, or comparable learning technologies. Hands-on experience developing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline; experience with Adobe applications or comparable tools is also valued. Ability to quickly learn and use new technologies, including tools that support learning measurement and analysis. Experience using AI tools to enhance learning experiences or improve instructional design processes. Demonstrated ability to build trust, navigate sensitive or complex issues, and manage relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Work Environment & Additional Information This is a term-limited position approved for up to 18 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs and funding.
