Job Description

At Vienna Coffee Company (VCC) our mission is to provide craft coffee that enriches the lives of customers and producers alike by providing an experience grounded in excellence and hospitality. We are a small-batch artisan coffee roaster providing specialty-grade coffees to coffee enthusiasts across Tennessee and beyond. The Education and Events Coordinator will be responsible for the successful implementation of coffee programs at Vienna. They will manage the delivery of coffee education offerings for internal staff, wholesale clients, and the public. They will participate in Quality Control (QC) and certification activities in collaboration with the Lead Roaster, Director of Wholesale and green team. The Education and Events Coordinater will focus on effective implementation of the company's goals and standards of execution for coffee knowledge and preparation with the keen attention to tailoring content to the appropriate audience.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with DRC education team to develop and implement training curriculum and standards at VCC
  • Plan and execute consumer focused events . ie Roastery tours, cupping experiences, public tastings
  • Facilitate scheduled new wholesale account training sessions
  • Lead and support coffee portion of internal barista new hire orientation
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional training and QC lab
  • Develop and lead ongoing training/ducation events for wholesale accounts and internal barista team
  • Facilitate weekly VCC cuppings
  • Execute special events as a representative of VCC
  • Assist in set up/tear down of scheduled events
  • Communicate with internal teams to promote consistency of standards between café, wholesale and public experiences.
Qualifications:
  • Must love coffee!
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Previous training or education experience in the coffee or food and beverage industry
  • Attention to detail
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and participate cohesively as a team member
  • Ability to control emotions at times of conflict
  • Ability to manage stress and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate computer skills; Word, Excel, Adobe, Quickbooks, and similar programs
Schedule:
Full time, 40 hours per week; flexibility to work weekends a must
Pay:
From $40,000.00 per year
