Job Description

Description The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of August 01, 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, academic professional track (non-tenure accruing) appointment. We are searching for candidates with significant teaching experience. Duties for the position include teaching three undergraduate courses per semester and service to the department. This position will hold an administrative appointment as Internship Coordinator in the department. The Internship Coordinator will coordinate, manage, and evaluate the Department of History's Internship Program to align with student professional development and career readiness.

The successful candidate will also have experience coordinating internship opportunities, mentoring students, and/or directing experiential-learning initiatives, ideally in an academic or community-engagement context. There is a one course release per year associated with the administrative appointment. Qualifications Applicants must have a Ph.D. in History or a related field, teaching experience at the college level, and expertise in teaching both halves of the U.S. survey, as well as have experience coordinating internship opportunities, mentoring students, and/or directing experiential-learning initiatives, ideally in an academic or community-engagement context. Ability to teach Texas history is desired.
