Killeen ISD is seeking experienced Reading & Language Arts Campus Instructional Specialists to support elementary and secondary campuses across the district. Whether your background is in elementary literacy or secondary English Language Arts, you'll partner with teachers, instructional leaders, and campus administrators to strengthen classroom instruction, improve literacy outcomes, and support district curriculum initiatives that help every student succeed. If you're passionate about instructional coaching, data-driven decision-making, and helping educators grow, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Instructional Leadership Coach and support teachers in implementing high-quality, research-based reading and language arts instruction. Model effective instructional strategies through classroom demonstrations, co-teaching, and observation feedback. Support the implementation of district curriculum, instructional resources, and literacy initiatives. Assist teachers with lesson design, differentiated instruction, and best instructional practices. Collaborate with campus administrators to promote continuous instructional improvement. Student Achievement & Data Analysis Analyze student performance data to identify instructional strengths and areas for growth. Collaborate with teachers and campus leadership to develop intervention strategies that improve student achievement. Monitor student progress and support campus literacy goals. Assist with campus improvement planning using student achievement data. Professional Learning & Teacher Development Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities for campus staff. Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative planning. Mentor new teachers and provide ongoing instructional support. Share current research, best practices, and instructional resources with campus staff. Campus & District Collaboration Partner with principals, assistant principals, counselors, and district curriculum staff to support instructional priorities. Assist with the implementation of district and state assessments. Support the selection and effective use of instructional materials and technology. Build positive relationships with teachers, students, families, and community stakeholders. Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements related to instructional programs. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience. Demonstrated success improving student achievement in Reading and/or English Language Arts. Experience providing instructional coaching or teacher leadership preferred. Certifications Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required. Reading or English Language Arts certification preferred, based on campus assignment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, curriculum development, and instructional best practices. Understanding of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessment expectations. Ability to analyze student performance data and develop targeted instructional strategies. Strong instructional coaching, mentoring, and adult learning facilitation skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Proficiency with educational technology and student information systems. Why Killeen ISD?
