Primary Purpose:
To provide teachers with instructional coaching, training, and support that is aligned with district curriculum and standards. The primary role of the Instructional Coach is to positively impact student achievement. This will be accomplished by participating in continuous campus & district improvement efforts and by supporting teachers as they provide targeted instruction and interventions for students. Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field; valid Texas Teacher Certificate; five years of teaching experience; Bilingual, Math, or ELAR certification preferred.
Program Funds Consideration:
Funding for this position is contingent upon the availability of grant funds. The position may be funded on a year-to-year basis based on the district needs assessment and availability of supplemental funds.
Major Responsibilities:
Provides coaching to instructional staff which includes, but is not limited to 1. Model high-leverage instructional strategies and aligned lesson component in the classroom. 2. Support teachers to plan rigorous, standards-aligned lessons including anticipating errors and practicing key parts of the lesson. 3. Observe instruction, provide real-time feedback during instruction, and facilitate debriefs that identify teacher action steps 4. Support teachers in creating and using exemplars, success criteria, and tracking tools to monitor learning 5. Coach teachers and teams to analyze exit tickets and student work to identify misconceptions and plan reteach. 6. Co-monitor student work with teachers to identify trends, levels of mastery, and needed adjustments. Professional Learning 7. Collaborate with campus administration to identify teacher needs and support campus-based instructional priorities 8. Design, deliver, and facilitate practice-based professional learning, including opportunites for teacher rehearsal and feedback. Other 9. Attend regular training/coordination meetings with the Department of Curriculum and Innovation. 10. Partner with the Department of Curriculum and Innovation to implement district instructional initiatives with fidelity. 11. Maintain coaching documentation, goals, data, and follow-up plans. 12. Attend regular district professional learning and other trainings to stay current in educational best practices. 13. Deliver district supported professional learning and participates in appropriate curriculum writing projects. 14. Follow the Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations. 15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Prolonged use of computer; work regularly requires work outside the normal workweek; coordination of multiple projects; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs.; work with frequent interruptions.
