Job Description

Tx-Star Speech Language Services has been serving schools since 2010 and is currently partnered with over 40 school districts plus a multitude of agencies and regional cooperatives. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in educational environments, specifically special education roles. Tx-Star's background of working with all disciplines within Special Education departments provides us unique insight into serving various districts and making strong matches between our contract service providers and the campuses and student populations they get to thrive in. We have some stellar schools in Texas that we are continuing and actively recruiting for at the start of and all through each school year! We are seeking skilled and passionate Special Education Coordinators to work in Houston school-based settings, with students of all ages.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students. Serve as a resource person for admission, review, and dismissal (ARD's) committees as needed. Utilize multiple special education platforms and software to document tasks and progress of students, programs, and projects. Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations regarding special education and assessment practices. Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1 years experience as a Special Education Coordinator. Knowledge and experience in various special education platforms and software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, Special Education therapists, other school staff, and parents. Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced classroom environments. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations, as needed.
