We're a highly engaged, collaborative team of about 50 employees with an office located at the new Hill Farms State Office Building on Madison's near west side. The WTCS Office is the administrative service agency of the WTCS Board, which is the coordinating and oversight body for Wisconsin's 16 public, two-year technical colleges. For more information about WTCS, please visit our website. This position offers the ability to work remotely about 80% of the time. One day in the office per week is required. Position Summary This position provides technical and administrative assistance to the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Fire Service Education and Training Team. This position works with the WTCS Fire Service team and acts as an agency liaison to the WTCS fire service coordinators, Wisconsin fire department members, students and the general public regarding the Wisconsin Fire Service certification and testing process, procedures and implementation. To view the complete position description, please click here. Salary Information The classification of this position is Education Specialist which is in pay schedule/range 13-04. The starting pay for this position will be between $25.00 - $29.00 per hour based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details WTCS does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States. A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment. Possession of a valid driver's license including personal automobile insurance, or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes, is required. Travel is required for up to 5% of this position's duties. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following: Experience providing administrative support in an office environment (scheduling meetings, preparing agendas for meetings, ordering and maintaining inventory, etc.) Experience managing difficult or high-pressure interactions with internal or external customers Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel functions (analyzing data, communicating data findings to stakeholders, etc.) In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following: Experience working with fire service or technical colleges Experience working with confidential information and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information Experience working in an electronic database such as Access, Acadis or similar It is critically important your application materials clearly describe your experience related to the stated criteria.
