Summary :
Reporting to the Manager Health Sciences Library and Knowledge Resources, the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program Education Specialist is responsible for supporting ThedaCare's Continuing Medical Education, in conjunction with our CME accreditation partner. The CME Program Education Specialist contributes to the professional development and growth of clinicians in the practice environment. Operationalizes CME services by ensuring objectives and goals align with the division's and ThedaCare's strategic goals. Assesses for potential practice gaps, identifies learning needs, and creates evidence-based programs to facilitate outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. CME supports learning in an interprofessional environment and promotes the culture of innovation and a commitment to academic growth and professional development. The CME Program Education Specialist facilitates the interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy.Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the daily operations to ensure all accreditation requirements are met for directly and jointly provided activities, and provides leadership for the CME program. Develops data-driven CME programs and learning opportunities to close knowledge and practice gaps, and utilizes evaluation methods to measure and report outcomes. Implements evidence-based education that guides the growth, professional practice, and competency of the healthcare team members. Partners for academic growth and clinician transition to, and maintenance of, practice. Mentors and supports the culture of curiosity, innovation, and lifelong learning. Leads by example to support operations and hardwire accountability. Serves as an expert resource for CME and provides mentoring and opportunities for growth for team members to meet their professional goals. Provides feedback to peers in a constructive manner and keeps information confidential. Develops and maintains lateral, cross-boundary relationships. Demonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risks to prevent crises. Develops and maintains relevant clinical and professional competencies to serve as a CME subject matter expert, as needed. Provides training and guidance to team members on CME accreditation compliance, department policies, and best practices Acts as the primary CME liaison between accrediting bodies and clinicians for CME webinars, asynchronous modules, and events—guiding clinicians through accreditation requirements Serves as a resource to faculty, coworkers, and learners who have questions or needs related to CME events and programsQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Administration or a related field plus at least two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related work experience equal to at least six years. Minimum of two (2) years medical education experience or Three (3) years of other healthcare related experience. Preferred three (3) years CME experience with continually increasing responsibilities or Four (4) years of other management, project, healthcare, education or accreditation organization in a coordination role responsible for systems and processes Able to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines Self-directed, self-motivated team player with exemplary customer service in communicating with internal and external stakeholders Expert communication skills with high levels of emotional intelligence Demonstrated proficiency with making decisions and recommendations on a variety of complex matters Servant Leadership orientation and mindset Skilled problem solver that works well with cross-functional teams and experientially diverse stakeholders Expert proficiency in intra and inter-departmental collaborations and relationship building Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs Experience with CME Management SoftwareQUALITIES
