Rooted Rehabilitation is currently seeking a self-motivated and compassionate Tai Chi Class Instructor that is enthusiastic about working with older adults in a senior living community. However, there is flexibility and opportunities to add additional classes at other locations in the area.Responsibilities:
Plan and lead exercise sessions in Tai Chi for older adults by implementing effective teaching methods, giving equal attention to all participants. Responsible for administering professional and effective program-specific skills according to course description. Address members who are not performing exercises correctly by demonstrating proper form and techniques. Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance to support members in their healthy living goals. Respond promptly and courteously to all member inquiries/needs. Set up and monitor class equipment, ensuring equipment remains in working condition. Report all equipment repair needs to the supervisor immediately. Advise participants on program and class procedures and policies, as appropriate. Complete additional reports on class/participant progress as requiredQualifications and Skills:
- Ability to teach Tai Chi and modify style for older adult clients
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
