A Dance Teacher teaches students in dance movement and choreography. Usually requires previous dance experience. Teaches a variety of dancing styles to individuals or groups of students. Styles may include ballet, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, jazz, lyrical or modern.

The ideal candidate is an engaging educator with strong technical training, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to developing confident, well-rounded dancers. Responsibilities Teach ballet to students ranging from age 3 to adults. Instruct beginner through advanced/pre-professional level dancers. Create a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment. Follow our curriculum guidelines and develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that support technical and artistic growth. Provide clear, constructive corrections with an emphasis on proper alignment, musicality, and artistry. Communicate professionally with students, families, and school leadership. Participate in rehearsals, performances, faculty meetings, evaluations, and special events as needed. Uphold the mission, values, and standards of a pre-professional training program. Qualifications Previous dance teaching experience required. College degree in Ballet, Dance, Dance Education, Pedagogy, or equivalent professional training preferred. Professional performance experience and/or extensive teaching experience ABT National Training Curriculum Certification is a plus but not required. Strong knowledge of classical ballet technique, teaching methodology, and age-appropriate progression Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively with children, teens, and adult students.
