Job Overview Woolfolk Academy of Dance is a dance school dedicated to high-quality dance education for children and teens in a structured, supportive environment. We are seeking an experienced Lead Dance Teacher to teach youth dance classes, supervise assistant teachers, and deliver curriculum-based instruction aligned with our school's training program. This position is specifically for our junior hip hop class for students ages 5-8 or in grades Kindergarten - 3rd. This role requires strong leadership, classroom management skills, and a commitment to consistent, curriculum-driven dance education. Duties Teach youth dance classes using the school's established curriculum Plan and deliver lesson activities aligned with curriculum progression standards Adapt instruction for varying ages and skill levels Supervise and support assigned Assistant Teachers Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment Prepare students for performances, recitals, competitions, and school events Track student progress and communicate with families when needed Follow school policies, procedures, and curriculum guidelines Attend required staff meetings, rehearsals, performances, and professional development trainings Collaborate with school leadership and teaching staff Support all student performances involving your classes Requirements Current First Aid & CPR Certification Current Background Check clearance Completion of Mandated Reporter Training (required prior to working with youth) Experience teaching dance to children and/or teens Strong knowledge of assigned dance style(s) Ability to teach within an established curriculum (no outside curriculum use) Strong classroom management and communication skills Professionalism and ability to work within a team-based school environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education, or related field OR 5+ years teaching experience at a reputable dance school or professional dance company Experience working within structured curriculum-based programs Performance or competition training experience Strong professional references Schedule This role requires a teacher to have availability on Saturday mornings and afternoons. Evenings and weekends are required depending on rehearsals and performances. Compensation $45.00 - 50.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience) Additional Information This position requires attendance at all required professional development sessions, staff meetings, rehearsals, and student performances.
