Job Description

NATURE OF WORK
Youth Mentor is expected to operate with integrity, doing what is in the best interest of the program. They are a positive mentor for the youth participating in For Each 1 Reach 1 Mentoring Program, Inc. Before, after school & summer program. They must know how to have a good time, while building positive relationships with participants and their families to encourage involvement and support. Create a welcoming and safe environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth. They should plan, organize, lead and promote interest in positive team building activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, games, music, drama, dance, social recreation, camping, hobbies, obstacle courses, etc. taking into account the needs and interests of individual members. Assist youth with homework, academic, computers and projects. They will prepare and serve snacks/meals/drink to youth in the program. Keeping the facility clean and making sure to put activities and cleaning items in their perspective place after use. This person must be able to drive a 15-passenger van to transport youth to and from school to field trips and community outings. Youth Mentor is responsible for adhering to the programs policies & procedures and making sure that the youth understand & follow the policies and procedures. This person must be creative and Intentional in creating success stories, so the youth have positive lasting memories.
QUALIFICATIONS
: Minimum High School Diploma Must pass a level 2 background check Must pass the quarterly evaluation. Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van DCF 45 training hours Annual Physical 1st Aid CPR Training Must be Reliable and Professional Must be able to make sound judgement. Must be friendly and a team player. Must have knowledge of basic mathematics, reading and computers. Ability to interact and play with youth indoors and outdoors. Attend meetings and training pertinent to the position. Ability to adapt to change. Physical Demands Must have the physical ability to do the assignment of choice.
