Overview We are seeking a passionate Aerial Arts Instructor to inspire and guide students through the exciting world of aerial fitness. About Our Organization Jubilee Aerial is an aerial and circus arts studio offering classes in silks, sling, trapeze, and lyra to ages 8 through adult. Our mission is to provide high-quality, inclusive aerial arts education that empowers individuals to build strength and confidence while encouraging creative expression. Through expert instruction, a welcoming community, and a commitment to safety and artistry, we aim to make aerial movement accessible. Duties Plan and deliver aerial classes across skill levels, following studio progression standards Select and use appropriate music Demonstrate techniques safely and provide hands-on/verbal corrections appropriate to student level Spot students during skill practice per studio safety protocol Modify choreography or skill sequences for injuries, body types, or ability levels Inspect apparatus and rigging points before each class; report any equipment concerns immediately Follow studio incident reporting procedures in the event of injury Ensure all students are registered and have signed waivers before participating in class Maintain familiarity with the Member Agreement terms to accurately answer member questions or route them appropriately Take attendance and manage class rosters via studio's booking system Communicate schedule changes, substitutions, or cancellations in advance per studio policy Maintain accurate records of certification progress (for instructors completing certification within their 6-month window) Foster a welcoming, encouraging environment consistent with studio brand and culture Support onboarding of new students, including basic orientation to equipment and studio norms Represent the studio's tone and values in member interactions (consistent with founder-story/brand warmth emphasized in marketing) Qualifications Minimum two years of instructional, coaching, or teaching experience. Must hold, or be actively working toward, an aerial teacher certification recognized as an industry standard (no specific certifying body required), meeting the 6-month completion requirement CPR/First Aid certification and Heads Up Concussion training (required for instructing youth classes) Demonstrated proficiency in at least one core discipline (silks, lyra, trapeze, hammock, or other) Understanding of progression sequencing and ability to assess a student's readiness before progressing them to a new skill Spotting technique and the judgment to know when a student needs a spot Knowledge of rigging basics and equipment inspection Awareness of body mechanics relevant to aerial work — shoulder stability, wrist/hand care, core Experience working with children and youth programs Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles Skills in curriculum development tailored to diverse learner needs and creative arts instruction Familiarity with theater performance techniques, musical instruments, or dance styles such as ballet or contemporary dance is a plus Ability to work effectively with students of all ages in group settings Join us as an Aerial Arts Instructor to ignite passion for the arts while empowering students through movement and creativity.
