POSITION SUMMARY
The Group Fitness Instructor position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. This position delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the welcome center and fitness floor. Instructs group fitness classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. Asks and answers questions from class participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and class participants connect with each other and the YMCA. Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture. Celebrates achievement of class participants related to class or personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being. Keeps accurate participation records. Create a positive environment where everyone feels welcome, encourage, and motivate others to become more involved in the YMCA. Greet and interact with members in a friendly manner. Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants at the YMCA. Responds to any emergencies with YMCA protocol. Attend all department meetings. If unable to work due to sickness, vacation, etc. responsible for finding shift coverage and communicating to supervisor. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED Certification in area of expertise when applicable. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Must be able to meet the Association's background screening requirements.

Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Appropriate Touch classes Completion of the YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training Completion of the Social Media & Digital Communications class Completion of the YMCA's Safe Lifting training
