Summary Are you a passionate and dynamic Cardio Dance/Group Fitness Studio Instructor looking to inspire and transform lives through engaging group fitness workouts? WellWay is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic certified Instructors to join our team! In this empowering role, you will deliver innovative, thoughtful, and impactful group fitness classes that elevate overall wellness and fitness in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment. As a WellWay Cardio Dance/Group Fitness Instructor, your impact goes beyond your classes; we are looking for instructors who build meaningful connections with participants, fostering a community that thrives on mutual support and growth. Your classes are a place where members can explore their potential, learn about their body and overall well-being, and experience profound personal transformation through taking part in all that WellWay has to offer. We are looking for instructors specializing in various group fitness formats, including our WellWay customized classes and licensed group fitness programming (Les Mills, Zumba, Pound, etc.): HIT (High Intensity Training): A vigorous and challenging style designed to build strength, flexibility, and stamina, perfect for those seeking an intense, high-energy workout that pushes physical limits. LIT (Low Intensity Training): Ideal for beginners and those looking for a foundational and energizing class that encourages self-paced progressions without the high impact and exhaustive demand of more vigorous workouts, allowing participants to connect deeply with their progress and achieve their fitness goals. BST (Basic Strength Training): A simple, yet effective, straight-forward, strength training class grounded in traditional and strategic principles, coached by educated professionals that meet many levels and deliver results. FIT (Functional Integrated Training): A balanced practice that integrates functional movements to enhance overall fitness and performance, suitable for all levels. SIT (Seated Integrated Training): A class that offers seated to standing movements to a population that gains confidence and capability within every class. Responsibilities:
Create Transformative Experiences:
Develop and deliver cutting-edge, intelligent, and effective group fitness classes tailored to meet the specific needs and objectives of our diverse members and guests. Your innovative approach will inspire participants to reach their fullest potential.
Empower Through Guidance and Support:
Motivate and guide participants in realizing their health and wellness ambitions through skilled group fitness instruction, offering comprehensive guidance, proper form education, and personalized modifications to maximize benefits and ensure accessibility for all.
Foster Community and Engagement :
Build meaningful connections with participants, welcoming conversations before and after classes to address questions and concerns that embodies a welcoming and supportive community. Actively engage with members to enhance their overall experience and encourage participation in club programs and events. Maintain an
Inviting and Safe Environment:
Ensure the studio and surrounding areas are orderly and clean, curate inspiring and thoughtful music selections, prioritize participant safety, and comply with company safety regulations.
Demonstrate Professionalism and Reliability:
Arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class, exhibiting professionalism with your authentic connection, maintaining a genuine awareness of club events and offerings, and fostering cross-promotion and relationships within the group fitness department and overall wellness services. We want you to be curious about all that the club has to offer and to make authentic connections for yourself as well!
Communicate Effectively:
Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow instructors to coordinate substitutes when needed and communicate openly with the group fitness lead. Proactively complete administrative tasks such as clocking in for classes and trainings, tracking class participation, coordinating subs for your classes, and documenting incident reports.
Embrace Continual Growth:
Demonstrate a passion for continual growth an development, welcoming feedback as a part of our collective culture and utilizing it to enhance teaching skills. Stay informed of the wide variety of wellness offerings at WellWay, along with the latest fitness trends, techniques, and practices to continually elevate your instructional capabilities and overall impact as a fitness professional.
Qualifications/Experience:
Training/Certification:
Nationally Recognized Group Fitness Certification along with current CPR/AED Certification.
Experience:
Ability to lead effective and complete group fitness classes, showcasing a strong foundation in one or more of the specified formats.
Teaching Skills:
Proficient in effectively teaching to a diverse range of skill levels, adapting instruction to meet various participants' needs. Skill in providing clear verbal and non-verbal cues to guide a safe and effective group fitness experience.
Demonstration and Guidance:
Capability to demonstrate and guide participants through exercises pertinent to the designated class. Ability to sustain activity and presence throughout the class, providing visual aids, effective modifications and quality cues.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, fostering a positive class environment among participants and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Group Fitness Lead, club General Manager, Corporate Support, group fitness instructor team, and in-club team members.
Flexibility:
Willingness to accommodate a varied schedule, including weekends, to meet the needs of our members.
Physical Capability:
Physical capacity to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation with a unit class pay structure and added incentive pay based on class participation.
