Join Making Light Productions as a Dance Instructor! Making Light Productions is seeking a dedicated and dynamic dance instructor to teach private dance lessons to children, teens, and adults of varying experience levels. We are especially interested in instructors with experience in musical theatre dance, jazz, ballet, tap, or other styles that complement our performing arts programs.

ASAP Hours:

Flexible, based on student registration and your availability. Private lessons are scheduled at the mutual convenience of the student and instructor, with opportunities to teach seven days a week.

Pay:

Competitive, commensurate with education and experience.

What We're Looking For:

Education/Experience:

Holds or is working toward a degree in dance, musical theatre, theatre, or a related field, or demonstrates equivalent training and professional performance experience.

Teaching Skills:

At least one year of experience teaching dance through private lessons, classes, studios, schools, camps, or similar programs.

Dance Background:

Experience in one or more dance disciplines. Musical theatre dance, jazz, ballet, and tap experience are especially helpful.

Specialized Skills:

Experience working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs is a plus. Additional experience in choreography, musical theatre, acting, or other performing arts disciplines is also welcome.

Personal Qualities:

Patient, creative, encouraging, and comfortable adapting instruction to meet the needs and goals of individual students.

Responsibilities:

Provide engaging private dance instruction tailored to each student's goals, experience, abilities, and learning style. Teach age and skill appropriate dance technique, movement, musicality, choreography, and performance skills. Help students build confidence, coordination, strength, flexibility, and performance ability. Adapt instruction as needed to support students with different learning styles and abilities. Communicate with parents or adult students regarding progress and goals when appropriate. Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging environment during lessons. Why Join Making Light Productions?
