Zumba/Dance Group Exercise Instructor Job Summary and Position Objective:
The Zumba/Dance Instructor is a 1099 Independent Contractor, and is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and effective Zumba® and/or dance-fitness classes for residents of The Great Outdoors RV/Golf Resort. This role focuses on delivering a high-quality group fitness experience while maintaining a welcoming, professional, and service-oriented atmosphere. The instructor ensures participant safety, proper exercise technique, and positive member engagement throughout each class.
Essential Functions:
Creates and leads an inclusive workout that motivates participants to work to their highest potential. Provides clear instruction, appropriate modifications and progressions, and encouragement for participants of varying fitness levels Maintains awareness of participant safety and environmental conditions during class Communicates professionally with residents and Recreation staff Arrives on time, prepared, and appropriately dressed for each class Tracks class attendance using current systems Maintains a positive, energetic, and inclusive class environment, including using verbal and visual cues, while coordinating movements for appropriate format of class. Adhere to all Resort policies, rules, and safety procedures Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues to Recreation Management Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations or when first aid is necessary Represent The Great Outdoors in a friendly, professional manner at all times

Required Experience:
Minimum age requirement is 18 years old High school graduate or equivalent preferred CPR, First Aid, AED certifications Previous experience with diverse populations preferred Certified Zumba® Instructor or dance instructor certification preferred Certified Group Exercise certification required from one of the following: American Council on Exercise Group Exercise (ACE GX), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Athletics and Fitness Association of America Group Exercise (AFAA GX), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA), International Fitness Association (IFA). Must be current and in good standing. Have a current General Liability insurance policy for Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer, listing The Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort as teaching location.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily performed in an indoor environment and may occasionally occur in an outdoor environment, which is subject to varying weather conditions typical of Florida. The instructor must be comfortable working with a diverse population of varying ages and cultures.
Physical Requirements:
May be required to sit, stand, or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time including continuous physical endurance for thirty to sixty minutes of aerobic activity. May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The employee must be able to perform medium work. Must possess auditory, verbal and visual capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person. Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and members' well-being. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays, as needed.
