Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Competition Jazz Instructor specializing in dance to inspire and develop young dancers in a vibrant, energetic environment. In this role, you will lead competitive jazz dance teams, craft engaging choreography, and foster a love for the performing arts among students. Your expertise will help students refine their technical skills, stage presence, and teamwork, preparing them for local and national competitions. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive jazz dance curriculum tailored for competitive performance levels. Choreograph innovative routines that showcase students' talents and align with competition standards. Lead rehearsals to develop technical skills, musicality, and stage confidence among students. Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive, disciplined environment conducive to learning. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to help students improve their technique and performance quality. Stay current with trends in jazz dance and competition requirements to keep training programs fresh and competitive. Skills Extensive experience in dance instruction with a focus on jazz dance styles suitable for competitions. Proven ability in choreography creation for solo and group performances. Strong classroom management skills to maintain an engaging yet disciplined learning environment. Experience working with children and youth programs, fostering growth through arts education. Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for competitive dance settings. Familiarity with theater arts, visual & performing arts education, and stage performance techniques. Ability to teach dance techniques alongside musical instruments or related performing arts disciplines is a plus. Excellent communication skills for working with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous for younger participants.
